PH13 — Making Mistakes

Posterheroes 2024 – Making Mistakes invites the creative community to explore the transformative potential of errors.

Let us challenge the collective aversion to mistakes and promote a more human and authentic vision of existence, one that embraces and celebrates imperfections as an essential aspect of our shared humanity. Let us celebrate our ability to turn failures into opportunities, revealing the resilience and creativity that characterize the human spirit.

We challenge the narrative of perfection, celebrating the transformative power of mistakes and exploring the most authentic dimension of ourselves before it fades away and is lost.

PH12 — Beautifully diverse

Posterheroes 2023 – Beautifully Diverse invites the creative community to promote a new representation of disability.

In a world where inequalities are constantly increasing, strengthening cooperation and educating solidarity and empathy to recognize the value and dignity of each individual, regardless of ability or characteristics, is more important than ever. Through collective action, promoting a narrative of disability that is neither positive nor negative but a simple expression of the diversity that characterises humanity is therefore necessary.

It is time to transcend the normal and embrace the beauty of diversity.

PH11 — Mindful or mind full?

We live in an era of information overload where people must continually reskill, upskill and get new skills. Learning follows the accelerated pace of technological progress, leaving behind those who cannot keep up. It is time to change the paradigm in favour of slow and sustainable learning that aims to train conscious individuals in the name of cooperation, respect, and solidarity.

Posterheroes propose to reflect on the limits of current learning models and imagine future ones: MINDFUL OR MIND FULL?

PH10 — Digital INCLUSION

Recent global events prompted a new way to view normality, it’s called the “New Normal”. The digital approach completely changed too, and it’s up to us to adapt, coexist every day, and create conditions for organic, systemic development in our society. The pandemic amplified the urgency to contemplate a topical issue: Digital Inclusion. That is, all activities aimed at ensuring that individuals and communities can equally access and benefit from opportunities related to computer systems and telecommunications.  And so, we ask: “Are we becoming e-Quals?”.

PH9 — HUMANS AT WORK

In contemporary society, work represents not only the main means of subsistence for human life, but also the element capable of guaranteeing security, responding to the needs of belonging and self-fulfillment and defining the relationship between oneself and the others in a wider context.

The world of work, however, in recent decades has undergone a very rapid transformative process and it has been influenced, on a global level, by a wide range of factors, with specific consequences in different territorial areas. While on the one hand, globalization has made production, exchanges and transactions faster, more flexible and efficient, on the other hand, the persistence of pre-existing critical issues and the presence of new challenges are now more evident.

PH8 — A poster for integration

Considering migration as a “transfusion” of ideas, cultures and “knowledge”:
What is the importance of migrations, migrants and diversity for a nation?
What does it mean to overcome the fear of the Other?
What are the physical or virtual boundaries that hinder integration processes?
Who is the global citizen of the future?

The Contest intends to make people aware of integration and acceptance issues, and to enhance “diversity” as a resource upon which to build “tomorrow’s” communities.

PH7 — Shaping the future

Future is for the most unknown, but we can be sure that challenges we wrote above, with many others (the transition from fossil fuels to renewable resources, the over consumption and the waste management, etc.), won’t find a resolution in the time passing by, but they will need human energy, involvement, intuition and dedication.

Heroes without mask, without costume, without superpowers, that can change the world with little actions and everyday choices.

PH6 — Rights in love

The rights on the couples, on the family and about love are slowly changing.
Love and the right to love are at the center of the current worldwide debate.

The right to love, regardless of gender, race, nationality or religion, has become, over the years, a basic statement that means freedom of expression and human equality. However, this important acknowledgment is still far to be extended to the entire globe: some cultures, communities and nations are still struggling to obtain equal rights and freedoms. Every day, worldwide, there are situations where homosexuality is seen as an illness, a problem, often legally punishable by imprisonment, or even by death penalty. In many cases, these conditions push homosexual men and women to marry the opposite sex so as to hide in public their sexual orientation.
Alike, there are cases in which women, are considered as subordinate to men, without the right to be treated equally in the community, especially if they do not get married.
What are your thoughts about “the right to love”?
Portray what it means to be “a couple” in your culture with a poster.

PH5 — Food in the loop

The struggle against food waste is one of the challenges of this century, and a great possibility consists in the promotion of new behaviours and new model of consumption. We need to re-discovery the culinary practices, well known to the previous generations, of waste reuse; it becomes essential to create new ethical systems to share the nourishment in excess as well as to avoid upstream the food over-production.
Which are the instruments to support this cultural revolution? Towards which model of consumption are we moving?

PH4 — The food system

Today, it is often difficult to ensure food safety, which means the quality and the sustainability in the production and in the sale of food. At the same time finding the right balance between agriculture and natural resources is extremely complex.
We must promote a behavioural change through nutrition education and information campaigns. There is an urgent demand for changing the food system to ensure better nutrition.
The new food system we must pursue is a system in which food becomes a renewable matter, where the resources go from one usage to another without waste and maintaining a close link with the people and the territory.

PH3 — The smart cities and the Transparent evolution

The Smart City project is certainly one of the most debated issues of the current historical period. Political programs, conventions, workshops, newspaper articles and magazines declaim and call for the arrival of Smart Cities and plead for a collective conscience with the objective of developing urban areas towards a new housing and participative model.
